International Travel & Visa Information

For information on what to expect if you are applying for a Visa to the United States and to review the Visa Application Guidelines on the U.S. Department of State's website. Additionally, the International Visitors Office (IVO) of the National Academies has excellent resources on all visa-related issues for the National Academies, Academy members and the scientific community.

If your visa application to attend ACC.24 is delayed or denied, we want to know. If your application is still pending after forty-five (45) days and you are at risk of missing the meeting, report your case to the National Academies. Complete the questionnaire and answer the question "Purpose of Visit" by typing "ACC.24 Annual Scientific Session" to help the National Academies identify you as an ACC meeting participant.

Registration Refunds Due to a Visa Denial: Visa processing may require long lead times. Please plan accordingly! We highly recommend you apply for the U.S. visa 3 – 4 months in advance. If your visa has been denied and you would like to be considered for registration refund, please make sure you have either an official denial document from the U.S. Consulate or a stamped copy of your application form, showing the date when you applied and the date your visa application has been denied.

ACC provides several documents that will document your participation in the national meeting and exposition. Please note that the ACC cannot intervene with either the U.S. Embassy abroad or with the U.S. State Department on behalf of any participant.

  • Official Letter of Invitation: Attendees can obtain a personalized letter of invitation for ACC.24 for visa purposes after they have completed their for ACC.24. Registration must be fully paid and all verification documents received by Maritz Global Events. If requested, a personalized invitation letter will be sent to the email address provided. If the letter is needed in a different format, please contact ACC@maritz.com.
  • Registration Confirmation: Once you have registered for ACC.24 you will receive an email confirmation, which you can also bring to your visa interview. If you do not receive an email confirmation, please email ACC@maritz.com.
