Why was ACC.20/WCC canceled?

With an ever-increasing number of ACC members on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was in the best interest of everyone to cancel the meeting in Chicago and ensure our members are able to do what they do best – help and heal. In the meantime, ACC staff and leaders have been working hard to provide clinical guidance and perspectives on the management and treatment of cardiovascular patients, as well as maintaining clinician safety and well-being. ACC.20/WCC Chicago Registration Information

ACC leadership adjusted its published policy for ACC.20/WCC only and is refunding registration fees in full for all attendees. See below for important information on the process.

When should I expect my refund to process?

The ACC has started to refund ACC.20/WCC registration fees. Refunds are being processed in the order they were received. For example, October 2019 registrations will be processed before November registrations. Thank you for your patience.

How will my refund be processed?

In most instances, registrations will be processed by the Form of Payment (FOP) used. Registrations paid by credit card will be refunded to the credit card used. Registrations paid by check will refunded via a check. In the event the refund cannot be processed via credit card, the refund will be processed via check.

Can I donate my registration fee to the ACC?

Yes. Should you wish to donate your refund, ACC will direct your refund to the ACCF's Campaign for the Future, and your dollars will go to support programs and projects aimed at ensuring leadership in cardiovascular care, fostering diversity and inclusion and tangibly addressing global health. Goals that are now more important than ever. ACCF is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. To donate please contact Marthea Wilson at mwilson@acc.org.

Will I get a confirmation once the refund is processed?

Yes. An email confirmation will be sent once the refund has processed.

Will exhibitors be refunded for booth space?

In response to this unique situation, ACC leadership has adjusted the published policy for this one year only and will refund exhibitor booth space in full. The ACC is currently working through this process and appreciates patience during this time. Exhibitors will be contacted within the next week regarding timelines for exhibit space refunds.

ACC.20/WCC Chicago Travel and Hotel Information

Will participants be refunded for hotel costs?

Attendees who booked with a hotel in the official ACC housing block will have their reservation automatically canceled by Experient. Attendees who did not book with a hotel in the official ACC housing block must contact their hotel/lodging directly to cancel reservations and are responsible for any associated fees from hotels. Please note that ACC has sent official meeting cancellation correspondence to all contracted hotels.

Will participants be refunded for airline tickets?

No. The ACC will not refund individual airline ticket costs. Please contact your airline directly regarding ticket cancellations. If you purchased travel insurance, please contact your provider for information and next steps.

ACC.20/WCC Virtual Information

How Do I Access ACC.20/WCC Virtual?

You can access ACC.20/WCC Virtual at http://virtual.acc.org. You will be asked to enter your first name, last name and email. ALL content will be available for FREE until at least June 30, 2020.

How Much Does ACC.20/WCC Cost to Attend?

ACC.20/WCC Virtual is free to everyone. There is no cost and no pre-registration required to attend.

How Do I Access the ACC.20/WCC Virtual Expo?

The Virtual Expo will showcase new product innovations, technologies and therapies in the field of cardiology. Access the Virtual Expo.

Don't miss exhibits from our many Premier and Supporting partners, as well as the virtual "ACC Central" exhibit where you can learn more about the College, get discounts on educational products and showcase you ACC pride with logo items from the ACC Store. You can also hear from industry leaders as they present the latest in cardiovascular practices, products, services and technologies during on demand Industry-Expert Theater and Innovation Stage presentations.

When Will Live Sessions Be Available On Demand?

All live sessions will be available immediately after they air live on demand. Presentation slides will be posted to https://www.acc.org/acc2020 following the sessions. There may be a slight delay. Media requesting slides should email Nicole Napoli (nnapoli@acc.org).

Will CME and CNE Credit Be Offered For ACC.20/WCC Virtual?

Yes. A total of 25.25 CME and 25.25 CNE credits will be offered for ACC.20/WCC Virtual. A total of 25.25 credits can be earned for Certificate of Participation.

How Will I Get My Certificate of Credit?

Participants will need to complete an evaluation and claim credit after watching all the certified sessions of interest. You may only complete the evaluation and claim credit once. You will be able to save your responses and revisit the evaluation and credit claim at a later time by hitting the SAVE button at the bottom of any of the subsequent pages. Claims are due no later than June 30, 2020 at 5:00 PM CT. Participants will receive a certificate by email within 24 hours after submitting this evaluation.

Will Other Types of Credit Be Offered for ACC.20/WCC Virtual?

Unfortunately, with the sudden and unexpected transition from a face-to-face conference to an entirely virtual experience, including a reduction in the number of education sessions, we are unable to offer several of the types of continuing education credit originally planned for ACC.20/WCC. There are other free options the College offers to earn these credit types, through its JACC Journals, Certified Patient Case Quizzes and more. You can also earn MOC credit through the ACC's Self-Assessment Products and associated Collaborative Maintenance Pathways, which can also be used as an alternative assessment option to ABIM's 10-year exam. We will continue to explore options to optimize the credit types available for future virtual events.

How Do I Access JACC Journal Simultaneous Publications?

You can find all the research from ACC.20/WCC that is also being published in JACC Journals here.

Are Abstracts/Posters available as part of ACC.20/WCC Virtual?

All presenters had the option of sharing their abstract virtually. All presentations that were received are available in the eAbstracts portion of ACC.20/WCC Virtual.

Will I be able to list the presentation on my resume or CV?

All accepted peer-reviewed science and cases are included in ACC.20/WCC Virtual. Accepted abstract submissions went live as scheduled on Monday, March 16. Presenters wanting to list their presentation on their resume or CV must include their email contact information with their abstract materials so that it is possible for abstract viewers to ask you questions via email. For oral abstracts, the ACC suggests adding a slide with your email information. For moderated and flat board posters, your email should be added as text directly in the body of the poster abstract visual. Adding your email contact information to your materials constitutes permission on your part for ACC to make your email publicly available on the ACC.20/WCC Virtual abstract web portal.

Will There Be A Convocation Ceremony?

While there will not be an official Convocation Ceremony, ACC.20/WCC Virtual will provide opportunities to take part in the time-honored tradition of Cardiology. What if I was not able to participate in the ACC.20/WCC Virtual experience on March 28-30?

The ACC is very aware of the gravity of the COVID-19 situation and its many impacts on the entire health care community and understands that you may not have been able to attend ACC.20/WCC Virtual "Live." During this time of change and uncertainty, one of the benefits of ACC.20/WCC Virtual is that you can access late-breaking science, catch up on education and share in ongoing conversations at times that work for you. All ACC.20/WCC Virtual content will be available for free for at least 90 days after the meeting.

Will iScience be available?

The ACC will not be creating an iScience product this year. If you already purchased iScience, you will be refunded in full. All refunds will be processed up to 60 days from the meeting cancellation date (March 9); however, ACC is currently working through this process the time frame may be extended. Any additional information on refund processing and options will be posted to the ACC.20/WCC website and communicated in the coming days. We appreciate your patience during this time.

How can I engage with ACC.20/WCC Virtual attendees?

Networking and engagement are one of the important elements of any ACC Annual Scientific Session. ACC.20/WCC Virtual features a number of ways to engage in discussions with colleagues from around the world on platforms like Twitter (#ACC20 / #WCCardio) and ACC's Member Hub. You can also learn more about ACC Advocacy and send a grassroots message to members of Congress; sign up for microvolunteering; or take advantage of career services.

Also don't miss the Virtual Expo where you can engage with industry on innovative new technologies and treatments and visit "ACC Central" where you can learn more about the College and showcase your ACC pride with logo gifts.
